The annual Kiwanis Hotbed Classic will tip again on Saturday at the New Albany Memorial Gymnasium with the first four contest featuring all five area schools.
Myrtle will open the day at 8:30 against South Pontotoc in the first of 11 contests which should supply the fix for any basketball-crazed fan.
West Union will follow at 9:45 in their game with Walnut while the third contest will pit New Albany against East Union at 11:00.
Ingomar will be the final county team to take the hardwood as the Falcons face off against Newton County.
This year’s Hotbed will showcase some of the top teams in Mississippi, including #17 Saltillo vs Arlington at 2:45.
Calloway of Jackson comes in at #10 and will tip against North Panola at 4:00 while #4 Columbus takes the hardwood at 5:15 against Cordova, TN.
Olive Branch, ranked number three in the state plays Lausanne of Tennessee in the 6:30 matchup.
The marquee matchup at 8:00 will feature Southwest Christian (AR) against Central Park (AL).
Houlka which features Madarius Hobson, will play in the final contest against Plainview (AL).
Admission is $10 and will be good for all day attendance.
